Its all a combination of I believe outdated conservative FOREIGN judaio Christian beliefs and PRESSURE FROM THE GLOBAL PHARMACEUTICAL/AGRO CORPORATOCRACY which in the US at least was the primary lobbyist weiding influence in Washington that resulted in prohibition. Marijuana in the US was not always illegal. The pharmaceutical companies make BILLIONS IN THE US ALONE NOT TO MENTION WORLDWIDE FROM SYNTHETIC OPIOIDS SUCH AS VICODINE AND THE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS. Marijuana in their business models would simply evaporate much of those profits. Due to changing norms especially about occasional marijauna use so many states have simply had to legalize it and it has been a huge financial bonanza for them. Those states in which MARIJUANA IS COMPLETELY LEGAL ARE MAKING BILLIONS OF TAXES IN THE HIGH DEMAND. Marijuana simply is not a serious mind altering substance. Its far far less dangerous than alcohol. It doesn't wreak havoc on your stomach and system. It simply relaxes. Also those states in which marijuana has been fully legalized have found record drops in serious drug use, EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE DRUGS SUCH AS HEROIN, PHARMACEUTICAL PAIN KILLERS, COCAINE, METHAMPHETAMINES, SYRUP, ETC. There are significant drops when marijuana is legal and widely available.
