Hello sweet friends! Finally got this video unboxing a new clamp-on grow light finished and added a 3-week update at the end. Below is the link to the light as …

  1. Red/Blue/Purple grow lights are a bit of a scam so don't worry about spending money on them–companies charge an arm and a leg and pretend they're best for houseplants but it isn't true. As a go-to rule, houseplants generally do fine under "cool" LED/CFL bulbs that are at least 5600 on the kelvin color temperature scale (provided they are getting enough lumens too) because these bulbs provide a wider spectrum of colors that benefit plants. @pictusplantae did a couple recent IGTV bits about it that are really enjoyable.

  2. I bought same light and the one that arrived was not the one advertised. The watts and specifics of the light were not what was advertised on the listing. The manual is came with said it was 45 watts and the plug was that for like a 10 watt lamp. Be careful.

  3. Couple fun facts: milkweeds are the only plants monarchs can lay eggs on and eat safely. They can also eat black swallowwort which is non native invasive. But if they do, they die! So, spread all the milkweed! Also goldenrod is my favorite fall flower. It's often confused with the allergen, ragweed. Goldenrod however is NOT an allergen, the pollen is too heavy and just falls to the ground whereas ragweed pollen is constantly in the air. Enjoy your new seeds!!!!. Love your videos!

  4. Oh man, and I heard that 2020 was going to be the year for the strip club aesthetic! You are funny! Thanks for the grow light. It looks good but I am a little scared of that clip now. I guess I will need Hulk hands!

  5. I have this light. My bulbs started falling out with wires exposed so I put a dot of E6000 in each and they've stayed in for 6 months so far 😁 Thanks for sharing 🌱🌿🌱

  6. Love the video, how did you do the peperomia leaves. Are they just leaves in moss? Super curious . Have one of those but it's looking very sad, so wanting to grow another in case

  7. Yeah, I am not a big fan of the purple lights either. My aesthetic is not a club environment πŸ™ With that said, I have 2 purple lights on timers. They are on mostly when i am not home.

Woot! Woot to awesome Ohio peeps!

Lastly, please give me details on what steps you took/are taking to bring back your white fusion from the brink? Mine will shortly be in that same state I am afraid.

Thanks Pam!! Loved the video! You crack me up!

  8. My living room used to look like a strip club… It took about a week of pulling into the driveway and seeing this before I put them aside for future growing endeavors! Girl… that light is bright AF! I love the little disco segment you threw in there, hahahah! I'm pumped for you about the seeds! LMAO "I thought that was weed, I was like sweet!" YAAAASSS bahahaha. I'm going to try growing some stuff outdoors this year! fingers crossed that I don't kill everything!

  9. I have a very similar one but mine doesn't have the timer and the high, medium and low settings. I like it. I also like the more sun-like light. In cloudy months like February it tricks my mind that it's sunny out.

  10. Congrats on hitting 6k!!
I have two 600w color leds for my babies, which are now four feet tall and about to bud. I just with my electric bill wasn’t suffering for these plants.

  11. Oh my gosh what a fun unboxing! Fun seeds, and I have those grow lights πŸ™‚ Have fun with all the pollinators! Theyre the best! With all that milkweed you'll surely get some monarchs visiting!

  12. I've been using those same LED lights for about 8 months now and I really like them! So do the plants underneath them πŸ˜‰
They're fab for few "dark as a dungeon" corners where even fake plants struggle πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

  13. Im looking into getting the free standing plant lights like those, xmas from hubby so hells ya! Let me know how well those do for you in a bout a month please! Love those plants Lady!

  14. I have a similar light that has 3 arms. I put some coleus I wanted to over winter under them and the coleus are taking over my house 🏑. They’re huge and the color is vibrant. So I moved some of the coleus and put some struggling plants like my white cushion calathea and a few starts underneath it. I have come to the conclusion these lights are awesome and I will have more before next winter ❄️. I also caved and bought a humidifier. Gotta love QVC and easy pay. πŸ’•πŸ’•

  15. You may want to add a warning on the title about the lights flashing on and off during your video, I seen a video the other day about someone getting a seizure due to a video on growlights and it was flashing on and off. I'm not sure how it all works or if its specific lights only but I thought I'd let you know πŸ™‚

  16. It'll be cool to see all those seeds grow and come to fruition!
    Love that sloth shower curtain!
I love that polka dotted plant by your greenhouse!
Hope you're having an awesome day Pam!… it's always nice to see you!

  17. I have a bunch of succulent seeds and bonsai seeds that I am gonna try to germinate in the next few weeks. I have been looking into a small greenhouse with lights for inside, I have a large one outside but my cats will definitely rip open the plastic walls if I try to bring that inside. Looking forward to the update to help figure out if it's worth purchasing.

  18. I got banned from iBotta πŸ˜‚πŸ˜¬ I’m glad you got some good use from it. Ha I have that same grow light at my desk at work, plants love it πŸŒΏπŸ™Œ And I vote yes to the sloth stripper curtain πŸ˜‚ Those seeds look so exciting!
