Any chance we can get a leaf specific pro/con to mulching. In my experience it's benefited my lawn to mulch the maples, but negatively impacted my lawn when mulching oak. Thanks for your time!
QUESTION: Jake, when ur picking up leaves w the mower, are you also cutting the grass or do you set the mower up higher to get only the leaves? Is it ok to trim a little off the grass while picking up leaves? IS it ok to cut the grass in winter?
I did my last cut on Saturday, got every leaf off the lawn. My neighbor did his last cut did his trim pass and blew his leaves onto my lawn. I then got that cleaned up. Sunday morning it was raining and then it turned into snow and got windy. I now have a lawn full of leaves again.
Like that you talk about using the leaves for something. I always use them in my beds. So many people bag them up and send them out with the trash and then buy mulch for their beds. I just don’t get it.
I'm doing, this late in the season, two mulching passes then a third pass that I bag. That way I only leave what the soil can handle. Its time consuming but there's so much leaf in my back yard.

Thanks Jake, I usually blow my leaves into the woods behind my house and will mulch them if my grass happens to need a cut.
I hate when people do nothing to their leaves. I clean my yard up all nice only to have the neighbors leaves blow into my lawn.
