  1. Just learned JRE makes 60 g's+ per episode. Which made me realize that being real and giving your honest opinion still does pay off these days. Bless the rationale people that understand the ridiculousness of society and hope the rest of them experience psychedelics so they can understand they're own bullshit. Do something for someone else and let you're ego set you free. I have high hopes even though unfortunately we are probably already doomed.

  2. "You're supposed to make your favorite music". Yeah, it's like smelling your own fart. I mean, Josh is great and talented, but he's not that eclectic. QOTSA are great, but they're doing pretty much the same stuff forever while changing guests, guitar pedals and adding some filler synths. It's really good and I love it but not that vast or deep.

  3. Fuckin awesome mindset! Best of luck to you man! Hey @joe rogan think you can get Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers to come on I think he’s got this kind of awesome artist existential mindset as well!

  4. Josh Home is my hero musically and personally. He's a bad ass and a real musician. He has never chased a genre or sound in the hopes it would be #1 on the charts with a bullet. Its unique because of what he just explained. I love that guy.
Personally I make music that I want to hear that I don't hear or can't find any were else. I listen to my recordings over and over again. When I get those goose bumps while listening to something my band mates and I created I know its good. Which is a real challenge when it comes to capturing the sound in the studio. Creating the song from inspiration is one part, capturing it correctly and honestly in the studio is a whole other process.
This man is my hero. I don't have many if those left. I love u Josh and have the greatest amount of respect for you. You have stood the test of time in the industry while still maintaining your truth of who you are and what original music you make.

  5. KYUSS were the single greatest hard rock band of the 1990s. There is literally not one single filler track on any of the legendary “Big 3” Kyuss albums. In 1993 & then again in 1995, they may have been the greatest heavy rock band of all time. They were up there with Sab & Zep. Brant Bjork will always be the greatest drummer Homme ever played with, and Scott Reeder will always be the best bassist he ever played with. ‘Whitewater’ is not only the greatest rock song of the 90s, but also the greatest song Homme has ever had any involvement with.

  6. Ween, They Might Be Giants, and Kyuss are brilliant (and three of my favorite bands) because they can and will play anything and make it sound totally natural. It’s like living in 7 different ecosystems at once

  7. Every song can’t be your best. Can go into it with the best intentions but josh’s friend wasn’t wrong. You should get Dave grohl on

  8. When I am in the beginning or the end of my sleeping cycle and have some lucidity, I can create entire orchestra scores with everything from opera singing to heavy metal vocals. I do multitude of instruments at the same time, guiding the music, creating lyrics and singing them all at the same time! It's insane! As I wake up, the depth, the complexity of music fades. So far I've been able to hum/whistle some music to my cell phone when I wake up, but it feels like it would be just too much effort to try and get back to the greatness/depth/complexity of the scores that I was creating in my sleep. Now. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WE CAN HOOK UP SOME ELECTRODES TO MY SCULL AND RECORD THAT MUSIC AS IT'S CREATED? instead of trying to reproduce it after I wake up. I don't care so much about getting paid as I do about allowing myself and others to experience these creations. I mean they are truly epic scores! I just want to hear them again when I wake up, please! Pretty please!

  9. I’ve seen so many Josh Homme interviews over the years and this is probably the most normal, down-to-earth and real I’ve ever seen him. Seems like he really opened up in this interview.
