  1. The exhaust gass treatment doesn´t require any horsepower to run it but you surely lose a bunch with all the catalytic converters and filters plugging the exhaust.
    Also a hotter running Diesel is a more efficient Diesel, coal means too much fuel for not enough air, if you don´t believe me go ask the guys at Banks Power.
    I have my very own fummins f250 with an ISB 6.7 at somewhat moderate 400kW and about above some 1000Nm and it does smoke some, when you really step on it just due to the principle how Diesels operate and their power being controlled not by flow of air but more likely by flow of fuel.
