  1. Have you worked as a content moderator? We’d like to hear your experiences, especially if you have worked for Google, YouTube, or Twitter. Email Casey Newton at casey@theverge.com, or message him on Twitter @caseynewton.

  2. Worthless Facebook people who decided to hire normal people for the job. What a cowardly thing to do smacking them with a silence contract. They should have hired high functioning psychopaths for this task, NOT normal empathetically wired people. What a mess!

  3. Thank you Verge. This was really hard to watch but news that needs to be told, and your reporter/interviewer did great work. Thank you Casey Newton.

  4. Smh I’ve seen a lot in life in real life.. I could probably do this job with no problem.. these people aren’t built for things like this. They need to be upfront with them and tell them what they will be seeing that’s ridiculous.

  5. Only a fool would have faith in mankind and think they can change the world. My depression stems from the acute realisation that mankind is a cancer the entire planet would be better off without

  7. Ngl personally don’t see why they should be taken down, let people see what the real world is like if no one sees how people really are then nothing will change. Personally videos like this don’t effect me either

  8. is it possible to apply ? im not in the US
But how do you apply ? I have tried searching " content moderator " on the hiring page. This job is not for the faint hearted and you gotta have nerves of steal for this job. I just wanna say thanks for your service, the content moderators should get some type of physiological help or something to detox their brain

  9. obviously this comment section has been heavily censored as to only include positive, supportive comments about this video and the people in it. it is this very censorship that produces weak, thin skinned losers like these who can't handle ANYTHING unpleasant in life. THAT is the real issue here but everyone missed it.

  10. Ooooh ok. Facebook is insidiously resourceful. I see now that they employ mostly socially worthless/low-value landwhales because it doesn't matter in the larger picture if they end up suiciding. No one will notice or care if the 500 lb recluse that lived 3 houses down stops coming outside, but if normal human neighbors start disappearing it could cause a big outcry.

The reason it has taken so long for this to be put into the limelight is specifically because of the kind of person that they have been hiring for these positions.

  11. I am sympathetic to their plight but A SWEAT SHOP IN AMERICA? LOL!!! 6 hours of work a day and paying $15 an hour is NOT a sweat shop. Again I am not saying this is ok at all, but honestly… A sweat shop… xD
