  1. Dear Saskia. HI from Uk.
I'm actually using the clipper from last 5 years. Some of my boys liked it , however the one boy – Youki is so scared of the sound of it. He hates to be touched apart of his face and bum rub lol. His hair…. omg long, white…. and he does not want them to be chopped off. He gets very scared/angry and bites me. What to do…. he

  2. I have a long haired piggie, I usually do something similar where I pinch the hair and cut along my fingers (I hope that made sense) but now I'm really excited to try a shaver using your technique, Saskia! Thank you ā¤ļø

Edit: I just realized, Harry's face is almost identical to my piggie, just different color. What breed is Harry?

  3. I found the best way was to trim to to basically the length of a short-haired guinea pig, and that would be so much easier with a clipper with guards. And that way you have a really easy time and don't have to worry about their hair getting long for quite a while! Especially around the butt.

  4. My coronet is so sensitive to scissors so i decided it would save time, pain, and stress for both of us. Coronets are such a goofy looking mix between silkies and crested guinea pigs šŸ’–

  5. i see you the box of Oster pet clippers in the background. I am going to buy some tomorrow for my long hair guinea pig. I wonder if Oster knows you are earning them customers.

  6. I used to cut my silkie's hair really short, almost to american length. Always around the butt at least, but later I did it all around. I didn't have any shavers though so I quickly learned how to make it really nice with scissors. I always paid attention to when people cut my hair, haha.
My piggie's long hair was always a lot lighter/greyer than the hair on the face. I thought it was really cute.

  7. Do you have a video on different guinea pig breeds? I was curious about different guinea pig breeds and what kind of extra care they might require (such as the long hairs needing a trim) 😁

  8. Just watched this again because the 2 piggies were just so gorgeous but a little rhyme popped into my head from when I was a kid and now it's stuck. I find when that happens, the best thing to do is share the thing that's stuck and then it will pass on to someone else. So here goes and apologies to whoever gets stuck with it.
    Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear
    Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair
Fuzzy Wussy wasn't very fuzzy, was he?

  9. This is a great hack. I'm going to try it with my texel because she hates having her hair cut and jumps around a lot so I'm always scared of cutting her.
As a side note, you rearranged the cages. They seem to have swapped sides of the room.

  10. Autumn looks like she had a bowl cut! LOL Definitely practice more with the guards. It will help even that cutie booty piggie butt out. šŸ™‚ But for a super fast cut this is really good.

  11. This has nothing to do with the amazing haircut you gave this lovely piggy, but I have a question today I was in my small garden at work and it was going tons of parsley and dandelions and strawberry leaves mint and some type of grass I looked it up and it appears to be quackgrass or couch grass do you know if it is safe for piggies? I brought it home but wont feed until I know for sure!!
