She is calling progressive taxes theft. The nature of trade/business/economy is inherently unfair and we need things to be regulated to make them work. Without regulation you get into rampant pollution and monopolies that enslave the population and the death of democracy, by people paying for votes and buying politicians and private armies and so on. We keep a progressive tax and it does not stop a person from succeeding, it just stops people from getting so far beyond everyone else and abusing their economic power and flying solo. It keeps people in poverty protected and it is socialist, which means that it works to benefit people on the whole, not the individual. Politicians are mysteriously calling socialism the same thing as communism to get your taxes lowered and claiming it is theft and violence, etc. to get people's opinions divided.
It wasn't demeaning to talk about her work history, that is a red herring. It was demeaning to bartenders. It perpetuates a stereotype that applies to many careers in our culture: janitors, babysitters. That a certain class of person bartends and so does not have the capacity to participate in politics.
Pretending that it never happened or that it was never meant as an insult is a debate style I loathe seeing work on the people in the crowd. Asking what the question was, is so arbitrary to fact and logic that the person doesn't have the capacity to respond. She even asks him to go ahead and insult her. Basically, getting him to stop talking and get off the point he was trying to make and bury the question.
Why the crowd doesn't instantly turn on her is beyond me. Great way to open the video and turn off anyone with intellectual values, like honesty.

This is why higher education is important because even when kids get to college a whole lot of them are still fucking stupid. Not all of them, but an overwhelming number of Parents are raising stupid fucking children.
What the Dems fail to realise is that not everyone is a idealist/political voter, people will vote to keep their jobs to feed their families ( from the 30 million jobs created under Trump ) and then their are the financial voters, why would anyone vote against the strongest stock market and economy in 50 years ? , no President has lost a second term under a strong economy, 2020 will be a Trump landslide victory of historic proportions.
