But, should I go to California (assuming I could afford to move anywhere lol) for a bunch of overly Liberal, inept retards living in basically poverty? Go to Colorado where again my living expenses would double and the weather is still trash and you can't even get any decent seafood assuming you can even find a good steak.
On some level Japan seems like maybe it'd be the place for me, then you literally think about it for 5 seconds and realize you don't want an even smaller and more densely populated California where weed is illegal and it also gets torn apart by earthquakes and tsunamis every other year. Dubai actually seems nice if I didn't want to nuke the entire city just for the sin of existing and again no weed. I guess I'll just settle with this mediocre ass fucking state, lol because apparently people find a way to ruin literally everywhere.

The United States actually had marijuana illegal already, then legalized it for the war so they could make parachutes. They even had a program called "Hemp for Victory" that basically strongly encouraged farmers to grow it "for the war effort". Upon victory, it was quickly made illegal again. And it's been illegal ever since although the "War on Drugs" as we know it didn't really begin in earnest until the late 70s/early 80s aka the Reagan era.
I always just assumed Japan on a cultural level wasn't as into Marijuana. The idea there are no head shops is false, there are like one or two. lol JK probably more than that but really owning one is a passion project because I heard a story about where this one Japanese guy dropped a 0.5 gram bag in a 7/11, returned the next morning to retrieve it only to find the cops waiting for him there already. It became a huge story in the media, and he was lucky to post bail in 5 days. For a similar offense the usual punishment for a Japanese national is FIVE YEARS in prison (for HALF A GRAM). For tourists, you get deported and banned from the country forever. Do not go to Japan to smoke. Period.
The only viable reason I can see people not wanting it is because indica is more common in parts of Asia and usually makes people lazy. Asia especially eastern asia usually has an insanely high work ethic and would be against a "drug" that promotes laziness.
