pamsprettyplants #houseplants #mobilecreator Hey buds! Today’s video isn’t plant-related but was viewer requested: How to start a youtube channel in 2020!
1:14 From Idea to Plan 6:49 Equipment Recommendations and Hacks 12:05 Filming tips 14:06 Editing Tips 18:13 How to Grow Your Channel (without pissing people off) 31:24 Final Tips / Big Sister Shit
Hiya, thanks for all your content Pam, as a viewer I can tell you that to me you do come across as 100% real and authentic and more importantly positive and supportive of people. Yea ok you swear occasionally but that's real too! Using the language we all do (or at least I do!) also adds to the authenticity of your work. The first time I came across your work was your anti bullying video which I thought was really great and an invaluable tool for anyone experiencing this negative behaviour. Good on you lady!! 😁👍
Gosh thank you for sharing this. I'm not going to start a channel, but, giving my marketing "strategist" profession, I would like to say that the first 2 min are pure GOLD content. Giving quality content like this is great. Gonna watch the rest of the vid later, but I needed to comment, sorry. Thank you Pam (SEO advice are great too)
I don't know ow you guys do it? The one thing I can say it that this community has opened me up a lot to communicating with YouTubers where I never did before. There are a few of you I watch and am beginning to feel comfortable just to comment often but yet I could never put myself out there on camera. All of you guys are amazing for pushing past self inflicted boundaries and going for it. Love the video keep being you!
I'm sorry, but I kind of regret watching this. I did know I'm doing it all wrong, but not to such an extent. Luckily, I'm happy with my 33 subscribers 😉 I'm not spending the next year (versus my usual two days) editing out all my "uhm"s and "ah"s for my next 15 minutes video. I will take some time to gather the courage to film again. I needed to say this, but I don't want you to feel bad for holding up the mirror. I admire your energy level and perfect videos 🙂 They usually make me smile or even laugh out loud.
Honestly you dont even have to "casually or subtley" post a comment promoting your channel in someone else feeds. All you have to do is just go to all the other plant peoples channels and post "support comments," in their feeds and subscribers and viewers will see you promoting your channel that way. " Pam's Pretty Plants replied" It's a bit more sneaky of you though 😜
Wow! Thanks for this awesome video. The tough love and sound advice is appreciated here. I'm too much of an introvert to have a channel of my own although I deep down wish I could do it. But…I know me.😄
Part 6: be yourself. Yes! This one I really need to work on, first of all I'm very shy and self concious about seeing myself on camera or hearing my own voice and then English is not my first language which means I'm messing up words, grammar etc which further adds on to my self concious behaviour 🤦🏼♀️ One of my reasons for starting my channel is to get me out of my comfort zone so hopefully little by little my personality will shine through 🤞🏻
Thank you so much for this video!! It was highly needed! 🙌🏻 I love the fact that you only use your smartphone for everything since that is what I've been using. I started my channel last year after I saw how much fun everyone seemed to have doing videos so I just went for it! I only have like 4 videos I think, but I really want to do more since I had so much fun with it last year. However I'll probably have a hard time getting videos up at a regular basis since having two small children, one 3 year old and one soon 9 months old which means I already have my hands full and my days rarely goes as planned 😂 I plan on filming my first video of 2020 tomorrow but yeah, we'll see how that goes 🤣
Such a lovely video.. Thank you so much Pam.. This is exactly why I adore you, No drama, no fuss, no negativity.. Its all about genuine plant love and trying to help each other 🙂 My adoration for you has grown multifold after watching this video :))
what a wonderful video! 🌱☀️ especially also your highlight for the continued improvement of your channel. i can second this wholeheartedly…. and – batch recording!
I watched this video as a subscriber to many plant channels. Excellent advice! Most people are very intuitive so they can spot fake a mile away. Best advice is to be real and if you are not a funny person, don’t try to be. Humor kind of comes naturally. Your videos have good information, entertaining, and succinct. Hope new YTers take your tips!
This was super informative and helpful for those starting out. I also record on my phone and do all editing on it as well. My only problem with that is I always run out of memory😡. Super impressed that you do it all by phone as well. I know you mentioned before watching Roberto Blake and he's been super helpful along with Brian G and some others. I hope it's ok I put those names there. You looked like you belong in Twilight 😘. Awesome content and you're right about jealousy😂.
No you tube channel in my future. I just enjoy watching and learning. I have told you before but I'll tell you again that I can relate to you because you are the real deal. I don't get into any competition or keeping up with the Jones! I appreciate all you share and work You put into your content. Keep doing you we like. Have a great day!💜✌
Ugh, I love and stan you so fucking much Queen P. I'm going to start my shit for real this month; 2020 will be the YT year 💕
Thank you so fucking much for all the conversations and love you've shown me and if anyone is reading this comment you NEED to know just how amazing this women is, I don't think you could even fully catch it on camera because you are just the best human I've had the absolute pleasure meeting on here and I will also start the #PhoneEditingHoes hashtag because it needs be remarked. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Great video Pam! All of what you said is so relevant but I do have one question: how much weight do you feel should go into “responding to the masses”? Or picking and choosing what you do and don’t respond to? Being a YouTuber sounds like it would be really cool but I have heard many of the folks I watch lately say something along the lines of “I have been getting emails/messages/dm’s asking me about _______ and so I wanted to address it in this video for the masses”. Do you feel pressured the more messages you get to touch on something and then post something even though you know you might catch some heat for it? I must say you don’t seem like the personality type that would fall into something like that but where could the line be drawn and when do you just keep quiet on something no matter how many inquiries you get? I know this is mainly probably a gut feeling type of thing but it seems like for some the pressure just gets to be too much! I think that’s the main reason why I (probably one of the biggest introverts and socially awkward people I know) don’t start a channel.
If you read all of that thanks and I hope you have a great night!
