*Fuel Filter: The manual for my GT-200r says to use a piece of wire through the filler cap to hook the line and filter. I'm not sure pulling the grommet out was necessary.
I replaced the part using your link for my 230. Now it starts right away but has quater the power. Orogonal took 30 pulls to start but had lot of power
what was the white capped hoo dacky part of the fuel lines? my wacker has just stopped for no reason and after seeing this video there's a few things I need to look at 🙂 thanks
Thanks! Mine didn't start after doing this, but I sprayed a little starter fluid in the carb and vroom!; it started right up 😃 Also I took the gas tank completely off and put a little oil on the rubber seal which made it easier to install. Thanks again for this video. ✌🏼
You've encouraged me! I have several weed eaters that have bit the dust over the years. I'm going to tackle them this winter to see if I can get at least one running. You made it look easy. Thank you very much!!!!
yeah, more of this sort of thing would be great! You're right about having to just jump in and do stuff on the farm, but being able to see someone else doing something similar before jumping can help save a lot of time and frustration, sometimes.
John. Putting those lines into the tank with the grommet. Put a little oil on the end of the grommet and it will slide in like butter! I really enjoy your videos. What you are doing is my dream. I'm also in Connecticut.
Good video, I'm sure many folks just junk their weed wacker when it won't start. Try a thin film of Vaseline on the fuel, pluggy, thingy ma bob dealy, makes them a bit easier to slide in. Using the open end wrench was a great idea. Most would go right to the screw driver with disastrous results.
preventive maintenance is best with all farm implements right down to the weed wacker . I am glad you chose to replace the carburetor instead of trying to rebuild it . those reed valves are touchy .. good job , like always good video
Yes John, this is good information. I can’t speak for all women out there, but most of ‘us’ weren’t taught these types of things as we were growing up, so this is really helpful. Thank you!
Why did you replace the carb? It’s not typically a maintenance item unless it wasn’t running right or the carb was cheap enough to just replace I while you were in there.
Cool, looks like you saved yourself about $100 doing it yourself. Now, can you solve world hunger and since you run a brewery how about hydrating the world while your at it! Lol! Thanks for demonstrating the "can do" spirit of how a farmers mind actually works.
all the 'hurry up' and buzzwords undercuts a pretty good vid, for an amateur

Amazon should sponsor you! You just made them 12 bucks lol
Damn… spark pug pocket, spocket, bla bla bla, sprocket… Son of a bitch. Socket. It's a socket. Had to do it.
Edit: What did you call that, a box socket…
Nice video

Why are you order a kid for one like that I need a kit Cajun land Church Point Louisiana
Cool video!!! Just bought a second hand SRM 230. Starts/stops…just ordered the kit to see if I can bring it back to life..😉 thanks for sharing.
Thanx
A little 2 stroke oil would have made the fuel line grommet slide right in. I'm getting ready to do this exact repair, does the carb come pre-tuned?

You make great videos that are educational and entertaining. Thanks!
Wow! Thanks John! I think even I could manage this!
Yep 👍 I like these type of videos to go along with the other videos.
Love these types of videos! Keep the camera rollin!
Nice kit! Always a good feeling after you take something apart to hear it fire back up. Man 30 mins and $16, thats a cheap weedwacker!
Whatever you are doing bring us along. Thanks for taking the time
So for John's hard core fans…… what is different about John?
Also John love the classical music diddy that you played there and in your other videos. What is it called?

Excellent video! Thanks. FYI< rubber to plastic wrestling made easier with a drop or two of WD40. You'll thank me 🙂 PS, thanks foe the kit links

Great video John! I am not mechanically inclined. So, videos like this are very helpful because my farm equipment is constantly needing maintenance.
