Master Gardener with Perfect Plants: The Sims 4 Gardening Guide (Base Game/Seasons)
Covers both Seasons and Base Game. A full guide to The Sims 4’s Gardening Skill, covering every major concept and teaching players the information needed …
I wanna say something. For one, I forgot sprinklers. But secondly, I feel the 2nd half of this video suffered. Why? Having to explain bugs in things like take cutting and the convoluted spawing of grafted rares. I would prefer to keep it concise but I really got derailed on like 3 topics due to problems like that. I'm also sorry for the fertilizer thing and will do a new video that explains what went wrong and lays out the tiers.
Over a year later – the 'bug' where all cuttings are used up on one graft is still present. Sometimes I think EA doesn't actually care about its players…
Thanks you very much for all the very useful information, I was having a lot of problems with my Sims4 garden didn’t even now anything about the bee box this will be helpful!
Sprinklers and the scarecrow were missed in this. The scarecrow is such a help with a large garden like this once you've made friends with him and he comes alive to help with more of the mundane gardening tasks.
It's quite funny how one sim spending his life on farming, earns much more per day, than sims on high career levels. This was the fastest I've ever earned money in sims 4. XD
I accidently stumbled into gardening and got a dragonfruit from a rare packet. Made 25k after planting a few, then i knew i had something. Then made a plantation with 500k a day. Needless to say. I didn't know you could grow CHEEESE!!!! lol
I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a cowplant bush at the Spice Festival (at least the couple of times I've sent my Sims). It's just a bush and not a cowplant, so you can take a cutting from it and graft it onto a plant to get cowplant berries.
I don't know if it's a xbox console specific bug but I can't drag things outve my inventory, when I try to place things in the environment my character takes a journey to the nearest table surface, and the plant/drag this item into the environment to run this action option is always grayed out/ unusable for some reason, am I doing something wrong? idk if I'm just a noob but I used to know how to plant plasmid trees before the major updates but everything in gardening is kinda different from when I last played, what do I do?
Also, leaving trash on the grassy floor spawns trash plants. The Trash Plants are insanely good for fertilizing plants, but are very poor moneymakers. They also can be used in recipes requiring fruits. How about some garbage on your pancakes?
Huh — well, it may not be a perfect video, but I like it for what it is — and that's a good tip about fertilizer. (I tend to just use pet poops myself — hey, gotta do something with the dog's waste!) And yes, grafting is like spinning the roulette wheel — it's a good thing it's mainly a hobby for my Sim who does it the most often! (I say "mostly" because he's a vampire and has both a plasma fruit tree and a grafted apple/plasma fruit tree.)
What I don't understand is how you only get 6 harvestables. I got the base game for free around Memorial Day, and have played over 100 hours since then. I have my sims wait until at least 6 am to harvest. I always get 10 harvestables per plant. I'll admit that I've yet to run a test where I try harvesting at 5 am to see if that yields fewer items, though. Also, because the spawn rate for rares is so abysmally low, I give plants an in-game week to produce one. If they haven't by then, I feel justified in cheating to buy a single item. I've only felt the need to do this for orchid and pomegranate. Everything else that can be produced by grafting, including cow berries, has shown up by then. If EA ever adjusts the frequency issue, I'll be very pleased, as I hate having to use a cheat.
I think it's great that you're doing these videos. People learn differently, and of course have varied preferences. For some, the text version of the guide is just what they need/want, while others find it better and/or easier to watch videos, and then refer to any specific lists (such as of plants) in text form later as necessary. Thank you for all the great work that you're doing in providing people lots of information in multiple formats.
Edit: I just realized that this was done last August, so maybe there was a patch that changed the harvest amounts since then?
By the time I was at level 10 gardening, I was more than ready to move on to another skill. Especially since to make bouquets, I can buy flowers. I found gardening became a full day occupation. Especially with added bees. Lol
I have a problem with Spinach and Basil. Every time I plant them I get “this failed to spawn and needs to be planted in a more open area” what does this mean? I have tried everything. I haven’t planted spinach and basil since I got Seasons.
I went to one of the city living events and stole some dragonfruit. That has been my money maker. With perfect quality and a huge grid, I make 1.3 million every harvest.

Actually, 5 am is when you can harvest your garden, & 6 am is when you can tend (water, week & spray bugs) your garden.
Thanks for this informative video. I learned a lot.

Level up your plant to perfect in a pot outside then plant a bunch of the perfect one in the greenhouse. Money all year round lol
You can have a garden NOT in Planters?.?.?.?..?. I feel stupid for. It knowing this but
I currently only grow grapes in my garden they bring me more money than other plants. And my garden is my main income so I have to keep it up

Kinda sad that gardening is the feature with the most depth in the entire game…
I didnt know crafting was random 😱
i thought my playback speed was set to slow by accident but it was not.
Why is this just showing up on my suggestion? I could've used this a long time ago. Guess I'm a gardener name fleur next. I got this
good, now i can start that weed plantation on Sulani and become a drug lord
I cant evolve trees for sum reason

What's the best way to evolve plants?

Insects killed my money tree

I love doing Gardening in the Sims I don't know what I just do, I really need to get season, I think that would make it even more fun.
I had such a hard time planting! This explained what I did wrong! THANK YOU! 😋🥳🤩
He said ruff

Me: playing Sims 4 since release date
Carl: gardening is a mental skill
Me: mind is blown

fertilizing is such a goddamn chore

So with the expansion packs, do I still just open the base game and they all link together? I dont get seasons even though I have the pack
Dood idea. Can you make a guide on money tree and is it possible to clone money seeds using cloning machine?
You can also fertilize plants with pet poop too.
I went to one of the city living events and stole some dragonfruit. That has been my money maker. With perfect quality and a huge grid, I make 1.3 million every harvest.
I know it’s been a while since you posted this but what level would you have to be? I can’t fertilize my plants.
Wow very informative and helpful! Thanks for the tips!
This was very helpful for someone who has never tried out gardening in any of the Sims games, thank you!
