Sheik always seems to appear out of thin air when finding Link throughout Ocarina of Time , showing off a sly nature that would fit perfectly in a more stealth-focused title than the average Zelda game. A Sheik game could fall during the period of time Link is asleep in the Temple of Time and show more about what Sheik was actually doing in Ocarina of Time . Little is known about what happens during the seven years Link is asleep, and a Sheik game would be a great way to learn more about that period of time as well as explore Sheik’s combative capabilities as they hold their own in Link’s absence and wage war against Ganond
Yunobo was a powerful Goron youth in BOTW and perhaps by the time TOTK makes its debut, he will have become an adult. Without knowing exactly how much time is between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom , it is hard to say precisely. However, this young Goron Champion, Yunobo, could be a powerful companion and friend to Link as he is already known to possess strong powers. As a descendant of the Goron Champion, Daruk, he has the ability of Daruk’s Protection, although he still found himself in situations in BOTW where Link had to come to his aid. Now that Yunobo has found his bravery, and perhaps some more wisdom with age, he could be much more useful to Link in the battles ah
The long-running **Legend of Zelda ** series has seen many entries, but never another protagonist besides Link. While there have been brief instances within games where players have had the chance to play as another character, Link has always been an integral part of each title. In the many stories told by the games over time, however, several other characters have been introduced who could serve as worthy video game protagonists besides Link thanks to their interesting narrative potential and new manners of combat when that could switch things up for the bet
Depending on how deeply time travel is intertwined with Tears of the Kingdom ‘s story, it’s also possible that Link will be traveling back and forth through time. There could be two concurrent stories with their own plot threads in Zelda amiibo figures BOTW 2 , one that takes place in the past and another in the present. Being transported as each story progresses and needing to complete quests to go back and forth doesn’t seem likely given the open-world format focused on player freedom, and neither does a sudden shift halfway through akin to Ocarina of Time , but it’s possible that players will be able to travel between the past and present at will instead. However, two separate maps – each one a fair bit larger than BOTW ‘s Hyrule due to the floating islands – feels like far too much to be within reason, and small self-contained areas of the past or present akin to BOTW ‘s Shrines don’t seem likely either based on what’s been shown so far. There are certainly other ways this concept could be utilized in BOTW ‘s sequel without ruining its story or gameplay, however, and they may become more apparent as additional information becomes availa
The Zelda series’ heavy focus on time travel, time loops, and other chronometric mechanics have established plenty of canon ways for timeline traversal to occur within the plots of its games. It’s also not out of the question for Tears of the Kingdom to retrospectively focus on the Zelda timeline as Zelda’s journey could potentially allow her to recover memories of both her divinity and past lives. The latest trailer notably featured a heavy use of Ouroboros imagery as well, which could indicate that TOTK ’s story will focus on the past cycles of Hyrule – and the role that Hylia and her Chosen Hero have played throughout the kingdom’s hist
Time and time travel are prominent aspects in Zelda games, even putting aside The Legend of Zelda series’ split timelines , so it’s far from outside the realm of possibility for it to show up in Tears of the Kingdom . Age of Calamity especially brings the possibility of time travel that much closer with its story of an alternate Great Calamity and a time-traveling robot. However, it’s not certain that Link will travel to the past and stay there. There are other possibilities, such as short quests where Link is temporarily transported to the past, or ones where he experiences it as a flashback similar to the memories in BO
The eponymous Twilight Princess from the game of the same name would make an excellent star of a title all her own. Whether she would be in her true form or the much tinier appearance she has in most of Twilight Princess , Midna is both a powerful and entertaining character that would make for an incredibly enjoyable game experience. Midna is one of Link’s best companions in Legend of Zelda ‘s long-running history, and has a combination of unique magic and interesting backstory that make her a perfect potential protagonist. Her fighting prowess was really showcased in Hyrule Warriors, with her control of Shadows making for engaging combat, and she could give more insight into Twili l
