One of the first new abilities that was revealed showed Link passing through the ground on one of Tears of the Kingdom ‘s floating islands . This was first shown in Nintendo ‘s teaser at E3 2021 (now found on YouTube), but has not appeared since. When Link uses it, he floats upwards while surrounded by some kind of green light, and briefly pauses halfway through the ground before popping out of the other side. Immediately before this, a scene showed a drop of water falling to the ground in reverse, though the significance of this is unknown. Strange music also plays for the duration of the clip, and extends into the following
Pebblits may not be the worst enemies to fight in BOTW , but they’re still rather annoying and shouldn’t show up in Tears of the Kingdom . Part of the reason is that their attacks knock Link down when they land, and Igneo and Frost varieties will also burn or freeze him, respectively. They also typically come in groups of three, and while it’s easy to defeat them by throwing them, Link moves very slowly while holding a Pebblit, so one of them can easily get a hit in while he’s taking care of the oth
The other part of the rumor comes from both the images of Link with a broken Master Sword and the mention in Breath of the Wild that Fi’s spirit is dormant within it. Even if Demise doesn’t make an appearance in Tears of the Kingdom , it seems likely that Fi will. She’s referenced multiple times in BOTW , with her signature sound effect even playing, and she did hope to meet one of Link’s future incarnations. But as one of the safeguards against Demise, it seems more likely that they would both appear in TOTK instead of only one or the other being inclu
If time travel is present in Tears of the Kingdom in some form, it carries a few implications. The first is that its version of Hyrule would be very different from BOTW . That much was already known, but if Link is getting sent back to the past, and especially if it’s as far back as the first rise of Calamity Ganon, then it could be practically unrecognizable, and have an all-new cast of characters either unrelated to those in BOTW or with only distant relations. It could also mean that players will see Ganon’s intitial rise first-hand, in addition to other events such as the construction of the Guardians and Divine Beasts, which BOTW ‘s sequel could use in unexpected ways if
In Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , there are many annoying enemies that shouldn’t return in its sequel, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom _ . Some foes such as Bokoblins and Moblins have already been revealed in past trailers, but certain others have been thankfully absent so far. _TOTK is set to release on May 12 of next year, leaving plenty of time for more trailers that may reveal how many of BOTW ‘s obnoxious enemies are in its open world when it comes
Depending on how deeply time travel is intertwined with Tears of the Kingdom ‘s story, it’s also possible that Link will be traveling back and forth through time. There could be two concurrent stories with their own plot threads in Zelda BOTW 2 , one that takes place in the past and another in the present. Being transported as each story progresses and needing to complete quests to go back and forth doesn’t seem likely given the open-world format focused on player freedom, and neither does a sudden shift halfway through akin to Ocarina of Time , but it’s possible that players will be able to travel between the past and present at will instead. However, two separate maps – each one a fair bit larger than BOTW ‘s Hyrule due to the floating islands – feels like far too much to be within reason, and small self-contained areas of the past or present akin to BOTW ‘s Shrines don’t seem likely either based on what’s been shown so far. There are certainly other ways this concept could be utilized in BOTW ‘s sequel without ruining its story or gameplay, however, and they may become more apparent as additional information becomes availa
The Dark World is a realm of evil created by Ganon’s corruption of the Sacred Realm in The Legend of zelda Duplication Glitch series. While the Sacred Realm itself may return in TOTK , it’s possible that the twisted Dark World may make an appearance, too. Ganon’s malice is shown to corrupt most of Hyrule in BOTW, making it possible for it to extend into the game’s iteration of the Sacred Realm as w
As Link explores the BOTW sequel’s transformed skies , he will be able to use at least three abilities that have been shown in trailers so far. There are other new items for Link to use, such as a large device that shoots flames, but this looks like a temporary weapon and not something that he will have access to all the time. Though it’s not confirmed, it would appear that at least some of Link’s powers comes from his new arm, which could mean that it will serve a purpose similar to BOTW ‘s Sheikah Slate. This arm has been a subject of great interest since it was first revealed, and from what’s been shown so far, it will have no small amount of importance to both story and gamep
