There are pretty much endless rumors about what Rocksteady will wind up releasing next. One of the most demonstrable shifts in the way morality systems work now is in the Mass Effect series. While Andromeda’s facial animations and other aspects faced major criticisms when it released, most of which were deserved, it ditched the paragon and renegade system found in the first three entries of the series. Ditching the Karma system wasn’t a popular decision, but it did make players consider why they did what they did, rather than just making binary choices to fit the mold of a hero or villain. World of Warcraft lead Ion announced the WoW: Shadowlands expansion with an incredible new cinematic trailer at BlizzCon 2019. The lengthly cinematic continues the story established in BfA and focuses on World of Warcraft lore. It depicts an encounter between Sylvanas, who has traveled to Icecrown, and the current Lich King, Bolvar. Xbox has shown that a freedom-driven, open-world experience can be accomplished with its first-party game Sea of Thieves from developer Rare (another UK-based studio like Playground Games, by the way).
