  1. What Bun just said about local government, that’s the key. My dad drilled that into my head all the time when I was a kid. Your local government has more power in your life than anybody. You want to change the criminal justice system? GO AFTER THE DA. Donate to every DA candidate though. They ain’t bringing charges against donors. If you look at Exxon/Mobile, they donate massive bread to pretty much every candidate who could regulate/tax/fine them. That’s what the Republicans have been on for DECADES. Especially when you look at the “religious right,” they’ve been going after city council, local school boards, etc for DECADES. Who determines if a religious charter school is going to take bread from already struggling public schools? The school board.

  2. On the real, the last time I went to black church, I felt like the pastor was looking right at my bd and preaching at him and telling him he needed to get his shit together or he was going to hell. But, like, his dad was the pastor and my bd is his only son, so he was legit singling him out and publicly shaming him/warning of impending hell.

Black churches have exponentially better music than any other type of church. I don’t want to feed stereotypes, but you would think the most materially blessed, least challenged people in world history could collectively make a little more joyful noise, but they can’t. Literally. They can’t do it.

  3. Does Bun still teach his class at Rice? I believe the class was Religion in Hip Hop if I’m not mistaken. I haven’t listened to the podcast in forever, probably since my son walking and whatnot. I know I’ve never watched it, but damn, ya’ll picked a good person to have a real good conversation on this one. Loving it.

  4. I couldn't help but lol when bun said social media allows mf's to say shit without getting punched in the face, that's funny cuz that's all troy(rico) and slim do is talk shit on ig about ppl they'll never have the balls to talk shit about face to face.

  5. I understand some of the shit Bun Is saying but we are the result of jammin the music you put out and told us how to get it and come back with it and all kinds of other shit. But change is possible for anyone but never forget where you were and what you were saying or how you were living before shit was all good. Great episode nonetheless. Keep it going my Dudes. I see some truth in this episode and some things that’ll make some people mad, but that’s what good discussions and debates are about .

  6. In regards to Joel Osteen I think he is a motivational speaker before I was a Christian I use to like to hear his positive outlooks and messages on life, but when I started to read the bible I stopped going to Lakewood; not because of what somebody told me about Lakewood. I just never felt the need to repent of my sins I never felt conviction for practicing sin. A Pastor needs to be biblically correct especially when he is asked about gay marriage? or what do you think about homosexuality? He acts like he don't know how to answer… The answer to those questions are in the Word of God
    1 Corinthians 6:9-11

  7. Bun doesn't know what the fuck is really up too old and not quite bright enough…he calls his own circle racist…nigga logic…I respect him he's just not ready…who is stopping black people from doing anything

  8. Joel & Kanye leading sheep to the slaughter, Jesus ain't our god. What is the 1st commandment? Trump just sign a 739 million dollar bill to create a space force, the Vatican can see our GOD's chariots coming with their infer red telescopes. Time to wake up!
