Hello my friends! It’s time for another round of my Where Are They Now? Plant Mail series! Today I’m showing a 4-month update on my very sad Josh’s Frogs …
Don't pull any punches on Josh's Frogs! 🤜🐸 Up until August of last year I could live with what you got from Josh's for what you pay. That's is until ISIS took over their shipping department and they started decapitating my plants and mailing them to me!
Right, everyone thinks that Logees is God, but I had a very negative experience with them. Companies aren't perfect and it is good to know how a company handles those complaints.
I think it is a Mac. My pr of or has very red leaves when they are young. I do like these videos. I need to know who to buy from. So far I only get from Gabrielle's.
I ordered a tropical plant bundle from Josh's Frogs and ended up with a fern bundle…I didn't want ferns! I'm not good with them. v.v Fortunately I had a spare fish tank I was able to turn into a vivarium for them. Very stressful.

Any nursery selling online has a great responsibility to execute 100% especially that YouTube is a platform for EVERYTHING. Even though "maybe" it got tossed around during shipping, they have to anticipate and protect against that. …A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL NURSERY THAT AIM TO PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PACK RIGHT ! Wow, I got a Prince of Orange from Josh's Frogs (three actually… and one died) about 6 months ago and it is still TINY. I don't think it'll be anywhere near as big as the one you got from them by the time I've had it for a year. :-/
Hi Pam! New subscriber here from the UK 🙂 I love your channel and have been binge watching your vids! I order a lot of plants online (usually from UK sellers) but one company has been so awful I will never buy from them again. They are based in the Netherlands but give the impression they're in the UK. Anyway, long story short I ordered 2 plants which took 12 days to arrive, they were bone dry, soil everywhere and stems damaged. It was in November and they were so cold the Ieaves looked transparent! I took pics and emailed the company and asked why didn't they offer heat packs, why was the soil bone dry and why was the packaging so inadequate? It was a lengthy email and they replied quickly, said they took everything on board and offered a refund or replacement. Chose replacement as, you know, they took my feedback seriously. This was worse, everything was loose in the box, one plant was crushed as the box was damaged. There was nothing to indicate there were live plants inside, so 'fragile' and 'keep upright', that kind of thing was missing. I was stunned and very angry, so I took more pics, emailed them and said whoever is packing these needs retraining immediately! No heat pack was offered either so they were very cold. They apologised again, took what I said on board (yeah right) and would I like a replacement. I opted for a refund. Such a shame as they had a great selection of plants on their website. I do use another online shop from the Netherlands and they are 100% perfect, heat pack for an extra £1.99 and sell terracotta pots that come with my plants without any damage anywhere. Sorry for the ramble but had to share my horrendous experience. I felt so sorry for the poor plants 🙁
Hi Pam, and thanks for being upfront and honest, I wouldn't want it to be sugar coated, I'm so sorry that this experience was such a bad one, I think that I would have taken the replacement plants and then still talked about the experience you had, now I am leary to order from them, I am afraid I would not be as kind as you were. I am glad to see that the plants are trying their best to recover. I love your Prince of Orange and would love to get one sometime this year, but not until it warms up quite a bit. Just keep it real, I like that and that is why I love your channel and you! I'm looking forward to the next video, love you and I will see you soon, bye for now.
Ouch! Yeah, I’ve had similar experiences from a couple of places here in the UK. It’s pretty gutting, not sure why someone wouldn’t want to hear the truth! Also, that really DOES look like a prince of orange, think you might be right. Whoops!
Hey Pam, you said that is the worst packaging you have ever seen? I guess you haven't ordered from Hirt's. They have the absolute worst packaging ever. They literally just throw the plants in the box and all you can do is pray. I continue to order from them because they are super cheap and fast. The plants do get banged up but they get better with a little care. People have found spiders and bird eggs in their Hirt's packages. I have yet to receive either but I am sure it will happen eventually. I have only ordered from Josh's Frogs once and it was decently packaged. I got my Pink Splash Syngonium and a Calathea Orbofolia. The Pink Splash is still thriving and she is a beauty but the Orbofolia died. I am on the lookout for the Syngonium Rayii from Josh's Frogs as it is the best price that I found, it is still out of stock.

These nurseries depend on us. I'm very understanding about things that are beyond their control, but there is no excuse for poor shipping. Also, when plants are being picked for the company, they should be in good condition. If we went to a big box store, we would pick out the best and the store would throw the undesirables away. I'm not singling out JF's, because others are guilty of the same. It is as if some of these places, seeing what some plant nuts will pay, are just taking advantage of us.

We learn from you… we buy from the places you buy… we laugh with you. If you were not honest we wouldn’t be here. To the sellers… pay attention to us especially the folks doing the unboxing videos. You send us crap in the mail we won’t be back PERIOD!!!!!

OK coming back to add update to my JF plants comment. I just checked the two I most wanted to grow and both suddenly decided to spring up. Maybe I finally got some thing right. I also had the name wrong on syngonium. It is Syngonium confetti not just pink. sorry my bad. And one more I did not mention before is my tiny Rattle Snake Calathea is showing signs of perking up. So three out of 10 are finally showing more than just life.
I've had similar experience with Hirts. I thought they were the worst until I saw this, but I have to give them credit for some kind of magic that happens within a few days of receiving their plants. I haven't lost one yet and they look great! Interesting video, thank you!
It looks like bleach was accidentally sprayed on that otherwise cute velvet leaf syngonium. I've accidentally bleached some tomatoes last year. before I realized that I had the wrong spray bottle. Oops. It was fine. Just some more yellow spots.
Without constructive criticism and opposing voices we will never grow. It's nice that you didn't take the replacement plants and really had the focus on trying to help them improve their shipping progress. Here's to hoping they hear the bigger message!
i've still gotten some things from JF that have been in good condition. but knowing what your experience was, i try to only order things from them that are more likely to do ok in shipping and/or i don't mind it it comes with more than a couple damaged leaves.

I think it would be a huge disservice to viewers by NOT giving honest reviews, especially if bad.
I always try to find plant-tubers reviews of plant companies before I order. Informed decisions can only be made by honest, fact- driven opinions .

I received a terrible order from plant whore. Spend $100 and received miniature. I feel is because of my Spanish last name sad.

I have a Mccolley's Finale and a Prince of Orange. That IS an Orange. Mccolley's Finale grows in RED and faded, not orange. You are right
