this tram should not stop after 4 or 5 blocks at least, it is so huge and with so much space as it is perfect to carry lots of people if not then is not necessary
We have a very successful tram system here in Manchester (UK) since 1992 and trams nearly always have priority at traffic lights. I can see from the video that Sydney needs to make improvements in that area. Nice trams though.
I am sorry to say this looks like a total waste of money in today's fast paced world. this should have a dedicated corridor otherwise it can never make any sense.
At approx A$3b, $1.3b over, that broke down shortly after opening and reported to have months of testing (200,000 hrs) and is much slower that buses. Countless small business sent bankrupt due to major upheaval and loss of trade and extended project over run. Money well spent .
I was visiting Sydney for the first time two years ago when I noticed it was under construction; wish I was there for the opening! It does look slow, stopping for traffic lights.
In San Diego, California. We have similar Tram like the one you have, they always go Green – the Only Stop is only when it really needs to stop at every single terminal .. The Cars must wait for the Tram to pass. I'm surprised Sydney gives the individual priority over public services.
Hilarious!. I rode the Sydney trams back in the 50's and they were better. The stupidity of removing them to now waste billions to replace what was never broken.
What a waste of tax payers money! The good part is that it made parts of the CBD much more pedestrian friendly, even though it just shifted traffic to nearby streets. First, they should have fixed the messed up bus network with tons of completely empty buses and inefficient routes. In the morning I have literally more than 10 bus options to reach work, and half of them run empty, which is absurd. These buses literally all have very similar routes, it's insane. Beyond that, buses here stop every damn block, how stupid is that? Ah, and I almost forgot to say that the bill at the end of the month is around 200 bucks.
George Street looks so dead now because of the tram…
It seems like Rio de Janeiro trams….
The biggest waste of money 💰 these corrupt criminals have ever done..
يارب نفسي اسافر واعيش هناك
I was there when it was under construction, now it’s ready. Nice!
How come. I dont understand, why they are built in the main road? 😄 And also slowly & always stop when coming in the red light. Trafic
Like PTs. I now have a reason to revisit Sydney.
What nong decided 2 trams hitched together with 4 large driver cabins was a good idea?
SLOW!!!~!
Even DC's trams go faster lmao
Best for tourists but not for local citizens lol. It needs to improve.
GODD !! LOOK AT ALL THAT INSANE TARTARIAN ARCHITECTURE !!!!! …. AND THE AMOUNT THEY DESTROYED . :-/

Sydney has certainly changed since I lived here. I also noticed the lack of priority for trams.
in Europe tram have priority

This tram looks very beautiful. It's a new scenic spot in the city! The speed of the tram has no disadvantages except that it is a little slow.
20 minutes to reach Surry Hills…what a joke. It's just right next to CBD.

Btw what a joke the tram kept stopping. Probably almost the same to walk?
Never set foot on this white elephant from day one (since phase one), waste of time.
DING DING DING DING
Tranm and Light Ril are different.
What a flog 19:00 great video thanks for posting it
what is the price for the 40mins ,7 klms snailway ? . FREE ? .
I think walking is better than travelling in this LRT. I felt very uneasy by simply watching this video. May be passengers feel the same.
same type of vehicle with Yarra tram

I think it is better to walk or use electric scooter because this too slow
Wait til peak hour re-starts after the new year, and see those selfish car drivers blocking the intersections at Alison Road & around Central.
Die Ampelschaltungen sind ja eine Katastrophe! Hoffentlich wird das noch geändert?
The next stop is in Ten metres….
Too slow
Once people are aware fully of the trams they could be sped up and operate faster like the Uk tram networks.
