WHIPLASH | Top E-JUICE CEO Reacts to Youth VAPING Epidemic
With the ink barely dry on legislation legalizing vaping products in Canada, the industry finds itself facing an existential threat: an epidemic of youth vaping.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? I’m thinking if the media hadn’t jumped on the teen vaping “epidemic” propaganda wagon, teens wouldn’t be tempted to vape. Ultimately, the media has brought vaping to the forefront thereby getting the attention of teens. Teens will try anything that is labelled taboo.
Is the regulatory framework really doing what's good for people's health? Doh! It's madness, allow cigarettes and marajuana plus flavoured colourful alcoholic drinks. Totally screwed up.
Great to have an advocate like you in Canada.. We could use you in the USA! Tomorrow makes 6 weeks that I started vaping and quit smoking after 45 years.. Nothing works as well as vaping to get smokers off cigarettes.. Let that sink in 😉
Great piece Brent. Is there an epidemic of under age vaping in Canada or is that rhetoric spread from south of the border? Whilst there's little doubt that the media and social media fear mongering has raised awareness of vaping amongst youth and more will try it as a result, how these numbers are portrayed as percentages deliberately misleads.
Their juice is really overpriced. The bottom line is that nicotine IS harmful. The myth that nicotine is about as harmful as caffeine isn't true. It harms blood vessels and can ultimately lead to heart disease. Is it less harmful than smoking? Absolutely, like 1000% less harmful. The problem though is that people who vape tend to vape way more than smokers smoke. Studies show that vapers end up with heart disease whereas smokers end up with lung disease (duh). Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go rebuild my RDA.
Edit: Had to fix a typo. I originally wrote "most vapers end up with heart disease" which is not true. I took off the "most" because it's only about 34%-56%. Can't lump everyone in there because that's just dumb and misleading.
What a great and enlightening on field interview, I just wished we would all call it eLiquid instead of eJuice, eliquid sounds a lot more professional and some would say, a word, less appealing to kids

Very refreshing attitude! Thanks! Still concerned about Juul and others using the high nic and teens using it for a buzz?
