It’s like putting a f1 racing car against a snail 🐌. And where’s the water chiller . Biggest killer in dwc or rdwc is root rot . You must explain the importance of a chiller when running a bubbler system and what about the water temperature. You mist so much out . Oh I’ve bin rdwc 20 years 😎
Great test experiment! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Maybe we can see another comparative measure called cost of system divided by number of pepper pods?
Can you recommend an automatic watering system for soil in the UK? It would be ideal to buy something ready-made with a few drip feed devices for two plants. Also, using a pump instead of gravity which can be turned on remotely using smart home devices. Do you have any ideas?
I've sown chili's in november, they aren't as big as Shanes yet. I think they are denser and sturdier though, and the first ones just started flowering. Maybe it was too cold in my grow room?
looking good, Shane. I`d keep an eye on the back two rdwc plants which are looking a bit droopy, generally a sign of overwatering/lack of root oxygen. If you used jiffy`s or rockwool to start them off i`d check to see that its not saturated. The hairs you mentioned on the rdwc plant are lateral roots 😉 Root hairs look like this: https://youtu.be/msgJQp_w1N0 (grown with migro lighting of course)
I think you're correct in your assessment that the Hydroponics will overtake the soil and show prolific growth once the roots get established in the water I make my own set up Dutch bucket Style with a top drip right from the get-go so I don't have to worry about top watering until the roots get into the water so I don't have the worry of the stunted growth initially I spend very little on making my setup I use five gallon buckets with top drip rings Air stones in the bottom
What are you comparing exactly? Hydro grows will produce bigger plants over all no question about that when you're force feeding your plant, but when it comes to Quality….True Living Organics will produce much cleaner flower with better Terpene profile with a bit smaller yield, the soil should test higher in almost every cannabinoid when tested.
Did I miss a video, where you explain exactly what's in each of your mediums? "Soil" can be so varied, as well as DWC amendments. If you have worm castings, & used any type of composting tea, you may get nearly as good results as in the DWC…
Terps is a UV B thing

Why are you not doing tomatoes? Wouldnt they be more similar, considering they have terps

I use your products for soil.
Highly impressed so far.

Get a PH Controller.. best investment for DWC
Looking forward to future updates!
hydro the best, shane you master, nice work
Very interesting Shane. Could you tell me what irrigation system you're using for the soil side?
Looking forward to the future of this series! Keep it up man! Cheers
What equipment are you using to control the temperatures, humidity and air flow between the two tents and the room?
Once the roots take off in the rdwc, watch out.🤘👍✌
Hydro wil alway b alot better than soil grow 👌

Not what I thought
