Dr. Merritt, tiny nitpick. Beta blockers like propranolol block the binding of epinephrine/norepinephrine to beta receptors. Alpha-2 agonists like clonidine, guanfacine, and methyldopa close the negative feedback loop and shut off the release of epinephrine and norepinephrine.
