This is one I am some what divided on. On one had, drugs are dangerous due to the mental states they induce, but so is alcohol and it is here because we couldn't get rid of it. We tried to do so. And since we CAN'T get rid of drugs (I wish we could) legalizing them would really hurt the drug cartels when no one needed their services. Of course, they would turn to other sources of revenue, but it would hit them hard for a while. Also, if you can't stop drugs use then regulating them would make it safer. Kind of like the parents who let their kids smoke marijuana in the basement because it is the safest place to get high. I want nothing to do with drugs myself, but which would be better overall. Legalizing them or not legalizing them?
California, especially San Francisco, is the closest thing the United States has to de facto legal drugs. All over the city there are health centers where anybody can go and take as many free needles they want, and there are even rooms where they can freely inject themselves with whatever they want. Nobody stops them, nobody judges them. They are all welcome. The city has probably the laxes drug law enforcement in the entire country. Even if drugs aren't de jure legal, they are pretty much de facto legal in practice. And San Francisco has one of the highest number of intravenous drug users in the country.
And what do we see? Well, not only does San Francisco also have the highest homelessness and poverty rates in the country, but the most amount of filth, trash, discarded needles and human excrement on the streets. Subway stations and underpasses are literally littered with homeless drug-addicts, many streets are essentially tent camps where homeless drug addicts are living. The amount of trash and human excrement on the streets has reached health hazard levels that are pretty much considered a crisis. The city is spending millions and millions of dollars every year to try to clean up its streets, to no avail. The city is also one of the unsafest, especially for tourists.
So, legalize drugs? Thanks, but no thanks. If California and especially San Francisco is anything to learn from, then the answer is no. Does criminalizing drugs cause crime? Sure. Does legalizing drugs make things better? No. It destroys cities and makes them unsafe.
Drugs can make reality more difficult to handle. I was tripping on LSD once and decided I wanted something sweet. I thought orange juice and a chocolate bar would do the trick, so I went to the grocery store…
It was Noon on Super Bowl Sunday. It was all I could do to keep it together. Definitely was a hard reminder of how much I despise children.
"nonviolent drug offenses" huh? When people are going through withdrawal, they're not very nonviolent. They would kill you for a dollar just to get that much closer to their next fix.
I just found your channel and you have some strong points but I want to ask If all drugs were legalized would you still be in favor of people being arrested under the influence? I live in a town that has a huge meth problem and I see people on the street dancing all the time. Going into my place at work and stealing while mumbling or even trying to attack others while looking like they are high as a kite. I agree most people who use drugs in their own homes should be allowed to do so because its their body. But it comes to a point in my opinion if you do them in public and have no self control then it should be on the individual. Side note Mikes hard lemonade is the shit so don't be knocking my mikes 😉
I agree with you with almost everything except when you said that drug dealers shouldn't be executed. You should've specified what type of drug dealer shouldn't be killed. Because in my opinion a drug dealer that sells heroin to a 9 year old should die. But a "drug" dealer that sells weed to a 20 year old should only be punished with my Benjamin's. But that's just my 2 cents.
Legalize ALL drugs.
What a poor guy you are who sold his soul to the devil !!
Cartels won't disappear with legalization of all drugs. Cartels will never disappear.
HOW CAN YOU HAVE A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS AND NOT KNOW HOW TO USE A MICROPHONE WHAT THE FLYING FUCK
