A lot more likely to be taking Adderall and every other known drug in the medicine cabinet for mental illness! When the actual cure is get off your ass and go socialize in person.
i really dont think this guy or the ppl he gets his “research” frm know shit. they’re trying to put a blanket statement on all cannabis users when it varies for all ppl. i was jus at rolling loud literally every mf there of all ages was smokin weed n were completely normal.
i have been a regular user for many years and it sevearly incrises my depression when im a daily user, i have quit a couple of times and it gets better when im not using. Its not legal in my country and i get it were i can but i can safely say that it does not help my mental health at all just the contrary. I hate to say it because i love smoking but i cant lie to myself and say it has no effect on my mental health.

The irony is that if you told almost any other drug user group that their drugs cause mental illness (alcohol, cocaine, heroin, etc…) their response would not be a polite disagreeance like the rational, healthy minded pot heads… They would stssrt screaming and quickly escalate to violence. A dead give away of their drug of choice. Wink wink, po-po.
I think I do experience some schizophrenia maybe or I would more likely to describe as psychopathy toughts on my self while using mariuana and it seems logical to me. (it depends on person and perspective). Do you think that king in a empty castne will remain the same?). When you think a lot you just practice talking with your self. I believe that your behavior, thoughts, decissions or even ignorance during your life can affect e.g. dementia too , lets build a problem.
20:50 I believe the increase is of that is honestly social media and how it shapes teenagers minds that you should have a six pack and thousands of followers and if not your a loser that nobody cares about, the things that are fed on social media is toxic for adolescence, ( to much of anything is a bad thing)
I’m 17 I been depressed for about a good year or two and for the first year I probably smoked like 3 times and soon I became tired of living and I disliked my life tbh I was so sad I started to lose my appetite and lost 20 pounds within two months and I finally tried to get some help and got therapy, months later of therapy I was still feeling the same way like it didn’t help at all, and I finally took things into my own hands and I decided to dabble with smoking pot, the first few months of smoking it was great, it would help me think more clearly allowing me to think about things from a different perspective help me think basically. As well as helping me see things for the way they are good or bad, and helped me realize how good life actually is. As well as helping me with my appetite as well and came back to a healthier weight for my body. I think it has been very beneficial for me but at the same time I can not abuse it because then I soon lose all the benefits from it.
How is this even a debate…. obviously weed isn’t good for everyone (those with mental illness should avoid) but it’s also proven to help LOTS of people. Therefore it should be legal. How is Xanax legal and not weed? I know someone mentally unstable who smokes and they should not. But that’s on them and they know it. I know far more people who smoke and it genuinely helps them. It should be legal for adult use. Keyword being adult as in you’re responsible for your own choices and have the freedom to choose..
Cannabis eases my chronic headaches due to my TBI in 2005. Joe please tell that refer madness guy to STFU with that bullish? Meth is a drug made with drain-o!
Yea that mental illness argument is irrelevant , that giant increase from 2008 is largely from social media and the internet which blew up around that time (facebook and twitter intially launced in 06 and instagram in 08).
The dude states it’s not medicine because of the psychotic side effects. Well shit explain adderall. SSRI’s, Xanax? Those drugs made me see the darkest places in my mind. Weed is the only thing that helps me feel normal
I love joe rogan and his views, but this was such a biased one way argument for joe trying to use any misinterpretation of the fact driven argument to masquerade cannabis as the miracle no side effect drug
Video stimulation affects the brain in similar ways as drugs and the amount of video stimulation has ramped up exponentially. Internet is also driving people insane.
how have you guys not factored n the increasing use of prescription medicine during the same time period and its influence in the increase of mental illnesses? sure, some of them may or may not be smoking weed along the way.. but its these stronger chemicals that (can) cause imbalances in hormonal signals causing things like schizophrenia and bipolar disorders, depression MUCH more easier.. IMO anyways,,
My sister is type 1 bipolar. She smoked a bit of weed this morning after not having smoked it for months and had a complete psychotic breakdown/episode. She was hallucinating and hearing things and after 4-5 hours, she didn't remember anything that had happened. It was the scariest and weirdest thing I've ever seen and I've never seen her behave that way in my life. I didnt even know marijuana could do that. I quit smoking it about 2 years ago, (smoked since I was 13, am now 25) just because I wanted to live a sober lifestyle. I am pro legalization. But the research needs to be done on the connection/effect with cannibis on mentally ill people and/or if it causes mental illness. Because after this morning, I certainly believe that if you are mentally ill in any way, I would not chance smoking weed. The things my sister were saying were completely bizarre. It was the scariest/weirdest expierience I've had in my entire life. She was so sad and confused when I was telling her that none of what she was seeing/hearing was real. And her eyes, oh my god! It's like I could see into her soul. I can't describe it. I was asking her if she took anything else and if I could see the weed and she was being completely honest and somewhat robotic in everything I was asking her. (If she's using drugs, she always lies about it, even though I can tell if she's high) That was another strange thing about this. All of this was completely surreal for me. I told her I would talk with her tomorrow, because she called me after I dropped her off back home (after she started being normal again), and she completely was clueless as to what happened and that she thinks she blacked out and didnt know why or what happened? It's a sad thing. And something I didn't even know that was possible from smoking weed. I am at a loss with what to do about this.
THC makes my hallucinations, mood swings, psychosis, paranoia, and suicidal ideation SUBSTANTIALLY worse.
Does THC cause schizophrenia? Absolutely not. It can only make what you already have worse. This guy is just pushing his confirmation bias, and he's making it more difficult for the scientific community to conduct tests on how weed ultimately affects those of us who have psychiatric disorders.
im 22 been smoking since i was 12 and with a logical deduction of myself and my past actions and instanstances of psychotic/depressive episodes it was either due to lack of weed or i was abundant in it and couldnt find fulfillment in anything else so i just smoke sleep smoke sleep also to heal from my current depression but i feel like its making it worse this is for me personally though ive come from a history of child abuse and other crimes against me so that is a major factor for me to consider when diagnosing how weed really affects me, i am addicted to the healing it can bring but th fact that i can use that as an escape drains me more cuz i realise im dependent on this escape for the most part other wise i couldnt imagine worse suffering than me being in my head and not being able to calm myself down with a bong or joint
At 7 mins that buff guy "sorry not knowing his name" was right on point. You gotta be open about every that you stand for. Be ready for any question thrown your way and answer it. It makes you truly believe, in whatever it may be 😊 At 10 minutes that guy in the shirt questions why not all patients are medically cured or effected and its simple. There's not a single case in this world "FACT" that is one sided involving the human race agreeing to one topic. PERIOD. It's just the way it is. As long as their are humans there will always be two sides. We're going to have the ying the yang the yang the ying it doesn't matter what it is there is always two sides. A one sided person not willing to see both sides is a waste of time. "TUNNEL VISION" Just like a relationship. See it from both sides. 😂
I have bipolar 1 disorder and weed is the only medicine I've found that actually helps me fully. Besides the mood stabilizers all the other medicine just made my condition worse. And weed helps with all my symptoms never gas it made me worse or caused a manic or depressed state
If you don’t believe that marijuana can cause mental illness, you don’t know much about what you’re smoking. The psychoactive ingredients in weed strip your brain of its layers of protection, which can cause many different mental problems. Weed addiction is very real and can cause crippling depression. Too much of ANYTHING, is bad.
if marijuana is giving you paranoia, anxiety, racing thoughts, neurosis, etc stop smoking it immediately and do not smoke ever again. you'll mess up your mental health.
Let me just give Joe Rogan much credit for opening for such debates in his podcast and making them most often really open and cool, even when his guests gets overexcited he manage to bring the discussion back to when it was a calm, profound discussion. In this one it is obvious that he tries to make the discussion as "not irritable" as possible and he's really good at it. At the same time he manage to puch his guests to a point where they feel questioned. Which is exactly what you want as a listener, he really succeed in giving the listener something to think och reflect about after listening to it.
Pointing out this dudes biggest flaw… saying "yea this could be a medicine but people aren't using it that way." Just because it's true that we aren't all children suffering from epileptic seizures but instead use it to get high does not mean that it's cannabis is not a medicine. Shooting your argument down is actually quite easy.. is there an alternative medicine with less harmful side effects than the cbd found in cannabis for curing epileptic seizures in children… why disreguard something as having a medicinal use just because a majority of people aren't using it for that reason?
Weed is associated with suicide… yeah so is SSRI's what's your point?
Both of these idiots have no idea what they’re talking about
Joe was really calm and patient with his question dodging.
One word dude, ALCOHOL…..
That book guy smokes , you can tell
A lot more likely to be taking Adderall and every other known drug in the medicine cabinet for mental illness! When the actual cure is get off your ass and go socialize in person.
So who to listen to this man the spy novolist or the doctor sitting next to hin?

Has been used for centuries by women for menstral cramps for analgesic qualities aswell as nausia and pain releif.

"Actually the studies show"
"No, actually studies show"
"No, no actually there was a study done"
OMG just shut the fuck up. Anyone can find some studies, memorize them, and construct them in a way to make their argument more credible.

Inhale the high… or inhale the fear… Your mind will determine this. Sincerity should be your guide. But why cloud the mind?
That guy is like a dog with a bone , ain't letting go cause it feeds me baaby !

Joe sitting there with a pitch fork , dont tell me weed is bad. Poke poke
I’m a Rogan fan but geesh let the guy get a point out without interruption.
the war on weed is old
